Jeremiah King James Version

Jeremiah

Jeremiah, called the “weeping prophet,” delivers God’s messages to Judah before its fall. He warns of Jerusalem’s imminent doom due to idolatry and injustice, yet also proclaims hope (including a “new covenant” promise) amid judgment.

Author: Traditionally the prophet Jeremiah.

Date Written: 7th–6th century BCE (Jeremiah prophesied from c.627 to 586 BCE).
