Description

The Almeida Corrigida Fiel (ACF) is a corrected and faithful version of the Almeida Bible, originally translated by João Ferreira de Almeida between 1628 and 1691. It is based on the Masoretic Text for the Old Testament and the Textus Receptus for the New Testament.

Key Features

Formal equivalence translation using the Masoretic Text (OT) and Textus Receptus (NT). Includes cross-references, subtitles, glossary, and mini-concordance.

Historical Information

João Ferreira de Almeida began translating the Bible in 1644 in Batavia (now Jakarta, Indonesia), initially using various versions in other languages, but later based his translation on the original languages. He completed the New Testament and part of the Old Testament before his death in 1691. His work was finished and published posthumously.

The first complete Almeida Bible was published in 1753. It underwent several revisions, including one by the Trinitarian Bible Society in the 19th century. The ACF is a 2007 correction by the Sociedade Bíblica Trinitariana do Brasil.
